I’m happy to announce the appearance of the new 2LMX Horology brand and their yet first brainchild 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch - an amazingly sophisticated mechanical timepiece. That news made me get up early in the morning and write about it.

The model has no name yet, but I’m sure it will come soon. I’m not sure if he was incubating the watch design for so long but I know that he had become kin on horology since he was 7 years old. It’s so because of the creative atmosphere in which he was brought up.

Vacheron Constantin belongs to famous watches brands of the world. This year this watch manufacturer from Geneva has brought to the public a new Vacheron Constantin ladies watch called Kalla Haute Couture a Pampilles. It is a real masterpiece of art made of white gold and decorated with gems of 28.70 carats.

Vacheron Constantin Kalla Haute Couture a Pampilles keeps up with a tradition of the 19th century ladies’ watches, which used to be overcovered with diamonds and thus preserved secrecy. Asymmetrical composition of diamonds hides the oval face of the watch so that it remains almost invisible. This “secret” watch allows the owner to check time in a modest manner, and serves first of all as a marvellous piece of jewelery. Besides that it possesses the mobility of a bracelet which can move on the wrist.

The largest world aquarium and Underwater Zoo in Dubai Mall recently saw the presentation of Blancpain’s newest diving watch X Fathoms. The brand new Blancpain watch model fits its iconic ancestor’s 1953 characteristics and a mechanical depth-gauge what makes Blancpain X Fathoms diving watch the most high-end mechanical watch for diving ever produced.

Through the testing and researching Blancpain’s specialists found out that satin-brushed titanium (X Fathoms’s case material) is a perfect material for depth-gauge membrane. It is all due to amorphous metal’s resistance to permanent deformation and to its’ elastic properties. In comparison with steel, satin-brushed titanium allows to reduce the watch thickness. This metal also gains in precision. The alloy long-term stability is gained by avoiding the microcracks’ risks. By the way, each X Fathoms watch has an individual calibration which gives max precision of depth indications.

Despite of the actresses’ pregnancies, divorces, film directors’ heart-attacks, tsunami in Japan, war in Iraq and European economic crisis films were shot one after another. According to Imdb statistics 7,054 films were shot in 2010 and 10,422 in 2011.  Searching through the most viewed and interesting films I’ve managed to make a nice collection of watches in movies. Tell me what film and watch you liked the most.

Bulova Accutron has recently brought a new bulova accutron collection of watches onto the market. It is called Bulova Accutron Gemini Valjoux and is a tribute to NASA’s space programme “Gemini“. In the 1960s American spaceships “Apollo” were equipped with Bulova Accutron watches, so all in all they visited the outer space eight times.

There are three new Bulova Accutron watch models which slightly differ in design. All of them are made of stainless steel and have 42 mm in diameter. The cases of two models preserve the natural silver colour of steel, the case of the third model is coated with rose gold. The colour of the face and hands also varies from silver and rose golden to black. The sapphire glass on the front side of the watch is curved and has an anti-reflective coating.

At Only Watch 2011 Swiss fine watchmaker Bovet Fleurier, presented a unique timepiece called 7-Day Tourbillon Only Watch and not long ago Bovet surprised all with a new 5-Days Tourbillon Jumping Hours with Reversed Hand-Fitting similar to watch presented at Only Watch. This unique watch can be not only admired but also purchased. It comes in 47mm Amadeo case, which is made from qualitative red gold.

The new Bovet watch is completely hand-engraved, and can be easily transformed into a reversible wristwatch, or pocket watch and even a desk clock. The change became possible due to its flexible upper tags of strap bonds. It’s like having 4 in 1 watch. The piece has up to 30 meters water-resistance. The movement in the new 5-Days Tourbillon watch is mechanical and hand-wound.

Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei have just released a new Urwerk watch – the Urwerk UR-110 ZrN Torpedo, also known as “Champagne Supernova“. The watch is a limited edition and rather special. Nothing surprising in the name Urwerk UR-110, but the ZrN part definitely means something unusual, such as Zirconium Nitride, which is used in case coating along with titanium. Thanks to its toughness it makes this Urwerk watch durable, high-tech and scratch resistant.

The initial version of the piece was solely in titanium and it looked good but a bit unfinished. The Urwerk UR-110 ZrN Torpedo has other special features, it’s the extraordinary dial. It’s contains some red and electric green elements, though on the whole it looks more like a champagne sparkle, which is why it carries its lofty second name – Champagne Supernova. Dial indications look also extraordinary and are simply irresistible and eye-catching.
