Founded in 2006 a workshop Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers is a unique service of exclussive Fine Watches that goes back to the 18th century Geneva craftsmen.
It gives the watches a special confidentiality. These two exceptional collection watches appeared in Geneva at Atelier Cabinotiers department. Its master try to offer his clients a service of excellence and dedication. Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers possesses the greatest things of high artistic skills. Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers created Philosophia and Vladimir wonderful artistic timepieces.
Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers Philosophia has only one hand right in its centre, the hour hand, a moon-phase super 24-hour display, the correct on-off slide of the minute repeater, which reveals the exact hour, 15 minutes and a minute. At 6 sharp the dial opens a splendid 60-second tourbillion. The watch’s back is depicted with constellations of Large Bear can be seen. A well-engraved phrase “Les Cabinotiers” is placed on the fine 18-carat light pink gold of Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers.
As for Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers Vladimir, it has the brilliant hand-wound movement with 891 components. Vacheron Constantin Atelier Cabinotiers Vladimir has 38 fine jewels, exact minute repeater, original perpetual calendar and excellent moon phase indication, important celestial map and necessary week number indication. Its tourbillion possess hours, minutes, second and the case is perfectly made of 18K pink gold with a unique manual engraving of the shown 12 Chinese zodiac signs and its rich sapphire crystal with perfect anti-reflective coating on its side. Its dial is fulfilled in 18K white gold. A nice strap of both models is fulfilled in brown Mississipiensis alligator leather, has square scales and it is hand-stitched.
I love great watches, the more complicated and useless functions (who needs a minute repeater or celestial map?), the better. But the Philosophia is absurd to me. From VC’s website: “The original idea was based on the postulate that mankind does not need to constantly know the exact time to the nearest minute”. So why does it have a tourbillion? A simple Tissot (or for the fancier Longines ;-)) movement would do the job. An exorbitant price eg. EUR 300k or more does not make an watch absurd, but putting an element (exact tourbillion) into a watch that as an ideal does not have to be exact is somehow strange…
