Vacheron Constantin opened first boutique in U.S. New York

One of the prominent watch manufacturers Vacheron Constantin has opened its first exclusive boutique in the USA, in New York. The celebration of this event continued for three splendid days, from September 20th till 22nd. The ceremony was led by CEO of the company, Juan Carlos Torres and its North-American President, Hugues de Pins. Several formal dinners were held to commemorate this grand opening. The menus were from world’s greatest chefs: Chef Thomas Keller, Chef Eric Ripert and Chef Sergi Arola.

The majority of guests were well-known New York figures, among them Darren Aronofsky, Richard and Kathy Hilton, Kelly Rutherford. Each night the visitors were invited to posh cocktail parties along with the exhibition of unique timepieces, after that they were driven by Rolls-Royce to a mansion where they could taste the delicious menus from chefs.

The opening was marked by launching three new and exclusive timepieces from Vacheron Constantin, being on display during these 3 remarkable days. Only Watch 2011 Charity Auction raised €4,563 million

The fourth Only Watch 2011 Charity Auction took place on September 23 at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco, in the presence H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. As it was mentioned before the cause proceeds are assigned to aid Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research.

The sales doubled the result of 2009 watch auction and reached an outstanding amount of €4,563,000. Not only the room where the auction took place was crowded, but Internet and phone bidding from all around the world was also intense. Among the guests there was the member of Rolling Stones, Ronnie Wood, who also showed great respect for the cause.

The importance of this cause and some participant watches has already been extensively covered, but who knew that the auction is going to raise $6,150,000, if expressed in American Dollars. One of the present Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy affected teens, Paul Pettavino, said, that Only Watch and its fund-raising is really significant, but what matters more is the union of human warmth and solidarity. Antiquorum Auction Highlights for Rolex and Patek Philippe The total amount of Antiquorum Auction September 14th, 2011 has reached $2,792,050. It contained only Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces. There were presented 319 rare collectible timepieces which drew attention of 353 registered bidders, both by internet and by phone. The highest prices were achieved 78% from items sold by lot and 119% sold by value. The main interest was noticed in Patek Philippe and Rolex watches.

As we know each two years the Only Watch auction event is carried out in Monaco at the Monaco Yacht show. All money that will be received on the auction will be given on charity to benefit medical research dedicated to fighting DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy). It’s really helpful deal.

Starting in the spring, different watch brands announces the special watches they are offering to the auction. And this event is often really interesting to see. The main rule of Only Watch is that all watches donated for auction must be unique timepieces. The crisis in watch industry is over – Swiss Watch Exports tend to Increase

In comparison with quite negative 2009, Swiss watch exports returned to steady growth in the first half of 2010. The amount of export during this period reached 7.3 billion francs. Last year’s level was exceeded by 19.7%.
