Breitling – Red Bull Air Race’s Official Timekeeper

red-bullBreitling has recently announced its decision to become the Red Bull Air Race’s official timekeeper. Throughout the season a plane with the brand’s colors will be flying during the competition.

The Breitling Company and the Red Bull manufacturer have signed a special agreement. Breitling has committed itself at serving as official timekeeper of RBAR – the Red Bull Air Race World Series. The companies agreed to maintain their partnership during an initial three-year period. Read more…

Blancpain Honors Peking to Paris Participants with Special AwardsBlancpain, the title sponsor of the Peking to Paris classic car rally, was privileged to honor the two most courageous race participants, Timothey Scott and Peter Livanos, with a really special gift. Both participants were awarded with a Blancpain Leman Time Zone watch, the timepiece created specially for globetrotters.

‘Peking to Paris’ 2007 has become the third edition of the classic car race, initially held one hundred yeas ago, in 1907. The first edition of the rally was won by Prince Borghese. This year the 130 participants departed from China on the 1st of June, driving their vintage cars. New Criteria for “Swiss Made” Label

According to the secret ballot, there were 52 votes ‘for’ and 8 ‘against’ reinforcing of the federal law on the ‘Swiss Made’ label featured by watches.

The brand name is one of the major factors implying the product’s quality and prestige in watchmaking, while the ‘Swiss Made’ label holds the second position by its importance. It is used as a valuable distinction that should not disillusion the customers. ‘Swiss Made’ indicates the watch’s origin and serves as the customer’s guidance when he is making his choice. The Swiss Customs Destroys Counterfeits

Swiss custom were able to seize not less than 5,200 fake watches and jewels during the first months of 2007. This figure is almost the same as in was the last year, when Swiss customs seized 5,500 counterfeit timepieces and jewelry.

Tokyo Headquarters for Swatch Group Ltd.

Swatch Group LtdSwatch’s new headquarters is called “Nicolas G. Hayek” center and it is located right in the center of Japan’s capital. The Swiss company invested more than 200 million francs. Among them 150 millions were used to buy the land. The new building looks out on a huge commercial avenue of Tokyo.
