Roger Dubuis Factory to be Purchased by Richemont
One of the biggest Swiss luxury goods group Richemont is about to acquire the popular watchmaking factory of Roger Dubuis. The Group’s officials announced that Richemont has reached an agreement with the famous Swiss watchmaker Manufacture Roger Dubuis SA.
The agreement between the two parties stipulates the purchase of Roger Dubuis component facility by Richemont. It is worth mentioning that currently the factory produces movement parts used in manufacturing Roger Dubuis Poincon de Geneve watch movements.
Under the long-term agreement between Richemont and Roger Dubuis, the Group will continue supplying movements to Manufacture Roger Dubuis SA.
The factory of the famous watch manufacturer was founded and is currently managed by Mr. Carlos Dias. It will continue functioning as an independent watchmaker and distributor, but still under Roger Dubuis brand.
Besides providing the facility with watch movements, under the long-term agreement, Richemont will serve as a distributor of Roger Dubuis watches in some of the most important watch markets, including the market of the United States and Middle East.
Due to an increased demand for mechanical parts, used in production of extremely accurate and complicated movements, Richemont needs not only the help of Roger Dubuis but at the same time it needs its own Maisons. Thus the company’s officials hope that Richemont, over time, will expand the capacity of watch production at the Mayrin factory, located in Geneva. As the Group continues its development, about 200 new employees are going work for Richemont and their number will grow.
