Nabucco

The new watch from Raymong Weil is a carbon fiber chronograph. It's movement is a mechanical chronograph Valjoux 7753 tri-compax, having 28,800 vibrations per hour. The timepiece is a self-winding watch.

Power reserve of the watch is 46 hours. It includes 27 rubies and its chronograph functions include:

  • start, stop and re-start, using a push-piece located at 2 o’clock
  • back to zero, using a push-piece at 4 o’clock
  • central chronograph hand
  • 30-minute subdial, found at 3 o'clock
  • 12-hour subdial, found at 6 o'clock
  • 60-second subdial, found at 9 o'clock

At 4:30 there is a round date window. To set the date one must use a push-button date-set, found at 10 o'clock. The perfectly round sporty case of the watch is made of polished steel. The diameter of the case is 46 mm, it's thickness is 15.6 mm and it is 55.5 mm long.

Nabucco's circular bezel upper is made of brushed steel and it also includes a tachometer. At the exterior the watch is polished with "godron decor" between brushed vertical bands. The genuine Raymond Weil ribbed screwed down crown has a RW monogram. The push-pieces of the chronograph also fluted and screwed down as well.

Nabucco's face is covered by a sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-glare treatment. It's thickness is 2.5 mm. There are 11 polished and nickelled applique indexes, all having luminescent highlights.

The hours and minutes hands of the watch are tipped with Boston diamonds; they also have luminescent highlights.

The chronograph has Red Baton hands with counterpoise. The screwed down case-back has a RW monogram in relief. Polished bracelet has carbon fiber links and a RW folding clasp, having double push-piece security. Raymond Weil Nabucco is a watch able to resist 20 ATM, which is about 200 meters.

I think this watch is one of a kind. It\\\'s BIG, HEAVY, very MASCULINE looking watch. I will buy one once I see some inventory. I saw one last week and I couldn\\\'t wait to get my hands on one. Aiming for the summer!!!. The Carbon fiber gives it a nice touch. Canadian List price is $4760.

Saw one at an Authorizedl Raymond Weil dealership. It was $3,000. It was made for them by Zenith. If that is the case, it looks, feels and has the complications that Zenith El Primo has in style and weight as well as looking almost like it. It is a good buy as it hard to tell the diference. i wil buy one when in stock.
